Paralyzed
I am so grateful for the many victories I have been able to experience in my life these past few months with God’s help! Only with Him have I been able to experience such grace in my life by the people he has placed with me.
Yet through these victories are still many struggles that seem to paralyze me and keep me bound. Let me give you an example; I have a post office box that I am terrified to go open myself because I am afraid of what will be in there waiting for me. I owe so many people more money than I can pay at this time, I am afraid my lawyer is going to drop me because of my bill and I am afraid of the unknown. So these fears are keeping me paralyzed from moving forward and procrastinating at opening mail that I need to face in order to live each day.
A friend who has her own struggles in life sent me this the other day in an e-mail and it really helped; "God wants us always to be in a position of trusting Him. Worry is the work of our flesh and is unscriptural. Worry, reasoning, and frustration are internal types of works that do not please God. To worry is to torment yourself with disturbing thoughts, and is a clear indicator that God is not first in your life."
I want so much for God to be a first in my life but I allow these simple fears to paralyze me from trusting that he is stronger than what is in my post office box.

It is also these moments that we "feel" that sense of unworthiness. I noted that when you preferenced the amazing things God has done so far - and then you went into the but look at how bad I still am.
Personally, I believe that we most admit our powerlessness in this area as well. Turn to God, who is our/the Higher Power and trust him to redeem this as well.
Mike, you're a blessing. Keep the Son in your eyes. He loves you!
Hmmm... well, I am grateful for the words about worry. I only hope I can eventually put those into practice.
Hey, you, keep your chin up... it really makes Satan mad when we do!!!
God bless you, my brother.
